The island of Fuerteventura is situated 100 kilometres off the west coast of Africa.

Fuerteventura covers 1659 square kilometres, is 100km long and 31 km wide with a population of only 86700. Fuerteventura is the oldest of the Canary Islands. With 330 sunny days a year Fuerteventura is an ideal place to spend the winter months or to simply take a holiday.

Fuerteventura offers a restful and tranquil way of life compared to the other main larger Canary islands. There are long sandy beaches in Costa Calma and in the southern Jandia and Morrojable.

Other tourist attractions include mountain tours, a nature museum in Tefia with farm restorations (Ecomuseo de Algocida). The economy depends on tourism, but the centuries’ old traditional goat cheese production still continues just as much as the cultivation of Aloe Vera which is used for medical purposes.
